An access log is a comprehensive list of all the files which were accessed by the visitors of a given site. Every single file which was requested for some reason shall be listed, so if you have only one webpage with three embedded graphics, one video and one embedded text file, as an example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for each of the six files that were accessed when the visitor opened the page. A log usually contains the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s Operating System, browser and IP address. Oftentimes you can also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your website. The data an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It could be processed by special software on a PC and used to write reports on the performance of a site, independent of the web statistics that your server may have produced.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Website Hosting

If you pick one of our cloud website hosting packages, you will get detailed access logs for all your websites. When you sign in to your Hepsia CP, you can go to the Access/Error Logs section in which you will see an extensive list of the domains and subdomains you have added or created inside the web hosting account. You will only need to click on the On button, that is situated on the right-hand side of each hostname and our cloud platform will start generating logs straight away. To disable this feature, you'll have to follow the exact same steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains can be managed independently and anytime. You'll find a download link inside the Logs section of the CP for any log generated by our system, allowing you to save the file to your laptop or computer and view it or use it via some log processing software.
